Planet Earth Games Trust is a charity on a mission to inspire people towards active and sustainable lifestyles. If you like what we do, please show your support…
We have made the event part of our annual college calendar and are looking forward to expanded and growing activities year on year.
Taking part in the Planet Earth Games has been great for Broadstairs College, and next year all six colleges would like to take part as the EKC Group. The EKC Group developed a student led Sustainability Strategy, aimed at net zero carbon emissions by 2040.
It gave me a sense of belonging with like-minded people.
It made you think about your relationship with the planet
I liked how much it made me think about how beautiful our planet is and what I can do to keep it healthy
It’s a fun and easy way to get people excited about sustainability
It inspired my 13-year-old daughter to think about nature in a more creative way. We are already very environmentally aware, but linking the environment to creativity and exercise was good for her to make those connections.
I liked the variety of challenges and getting you away from your screens and into the great outdoors.
The challenges highlighted issues in a fun and accessible way leading to simple changes that we can make to reduce our plastic use
It gave us something to focus on as a family. We felt like we were achieving something together. It was a good tool for creating a dialogue with the kids about environmental issues.
I enjoyed actually getting out and being more active! I will continue to swim in the sea when it is warm enough to do so, as I had forgotten how good it felt.
I was out of my comfort zone when filming myself do the exercise challenges, but I giggled a lot!
It has been a very interesting first year for BMET students in the Planet Earth Games with many learning points but also many identified areas for the future. The students have taken the lead and have grown in confidence.
We have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this competition and feel strongly that there will be a legacy of ongoing sustainable projects and student led initiatives that will continue throughout the summer term and beyond! Many thanks
