Thursday, October 8th, is Clean Air Day 2020. The official campaign wishes to make 2020 the “cleanest Clean Air Day Yet”. Normally, large events are run around the country to raise awareness about air pollution, but like Planet Earth Games, this year has to be virtual and socially distanced. This sets an exciting opportunity as the global lockdown has caused pollution to drop in many of the worse affected areas. As attitudes towards daily commutes and excessive air travel have shifted, perhaps we have reached a turning point for air pollution.
