COLLEGES GET SET FOR PLANET EARTH GAMES

November 13 , 2023

25 colleges have already signed up for this year’s Planet Earth Games and are ramping up preparations for this year’s nationwide competition.

Are you ready?

Planet Earth Games is a catalyst for colleges to activate climate action, support student and staff wellbeing, create connections to nature and to develop young green leadership skills in the race to net zero. From January in the lead up to Earth Day (22 April 2024), learners and staff will be organising sustainable sports and physical activity events on campus and in the community. They earn points for every member of their team who takes part, helping them climb the leaderboards before the winners are decided at the Earth Day climax.

Colleges who have already registered are set to get access to marketing and promotional materials this week (13-17 November) to drive participation. Colleges who have entered will also receive:

·       Participation for all staff and students

·       Access to monthly seminars by industry experts in sustainable sport

·       Inspiration box of sustainable items

·       Sustainable sport guide

·       Weekly what’s on emails

·       Access to all virtual challenges

·       Ability to create own challenges on planetearthgames.org

·       Live leaderboards

·       Prizes for winners in three tiers (according to college size)

If your college has not yet registered, simply create a profile here and create a team in the Further Education competition and play your part in 2023/24.
