This month, Planet Earth Games is teaming up with Wildlife Trusts to encourage nature conservation and interaction through the 30 Days Wild programme.
30 Days Wild is The Wildlife Trusts’ annual challenge challenging people to do one wild thing a day throughout the month of June. We are sharing four of their challenges as part of Planet Earth Games this June and would love you to get involved. And here’s five good reasons to take part in this month’s challenges…
1. CONSERVATION IS IMPORTANT
Conservation of nature supports biodiversity, helping to protect species from extinction or harm. It also prevents the wasteful use of natural resources and supports the food chain.
2. CONNECTING WITH NATURE FOR WELLBEING
According to the Mental Health Foundation: “Nature can generate a multitude of positive emotions, such as calmness, joy, creativity and can facilitate concentration. Nature connectedness is also associated with lower levels of poor mental health; in particular lower depression and anxiety levels.”
3. LEARNING SOMETHING NEW IS GOOD FOR YOU
Learning something new provides you with an escape when you need it, knowledge when you seek it, and a great and satisfying pastime. By acquiring new knowledge and skills, you gain confidence, have fun and sometimes even rekindle a passion from earlier in your life.
4. CONNECT WITH OTHER PEOPLE
By making a contribution to environmental sustainability, you can feel more connected to fellow humans and be part of something really significant. It brings a sense of community.
5. WIN PRIZES!
Ok, this one is a little more selfish and materialistic. But it’s also good for the planet! Why? That’s because the best five submissions this month will receive an awesome Seedbom gift set from Kabloom. Each mini seedbom biodegrades in the ground and releases seeds to grow flowers and fauna to encourage birds, bees and butterflies.
