Planet Earth Games is thrilled to announce the recruitment of seven new high calibre trustees ahead of another exciting year for the organisation and its innovative model of sustainable sport, health and wellbeing and physical activity.

The incoming Trustees bring a breadth of national and international experience from the public and private sector to Planet Earth Games, which enjoyed a ground-breaking year in 2020. With the arrival of the pandemic, Planet Earth Games revolutionised its event delivery to a virtual model, setting a month’s worth of challenges through August working in collaboration with some of the UK’s leading sustainable brands and ambassadors.

The result was an event that reached over 800,000 people with real outcomes. 60% of participants reported that they were more active than usual across the month and 74% learned something new about environmental sustainability. Following the success of August, Planet Earth Games will host a Winter version across February with free entry available at www.planetearthgames.org

Longer-term, Planet Earth Games is creating a strategy to place the organisation at the forefront of sustainable sport in the UK and beyond. Planet Earth Games founder Chris Broadbent said: “We have unlimited ambitions for our organisation and we are really excited to be joined on the journey by such a talented group of professionals.

“We have a team that can lift Planet Earth Games to a national and international significance and inspire real change for the greater good. Living a sustainable, active lifestyle doesn’t have to mean sacrifice.  It can be a lot of fun too. The beauty of the Planet Earth Games is in making environmentalism enjoyable.

“We have a compelling model that resonates with a wide audience. By educating, inspiring and influencing people to live healthier and happier lives that benefit themselves and their environment, we appeal to multiple demographics across multiple boundaries.”
