Ahead of entries launching next week (week beginning 20 July), the Planet Earth Games has been given a significant lift as in recent days, having been joined by a flurry of national, regional and local brands and ambassadors, sharing in the event's ethos
Ahead of entries launching next week (week beginning 20 July), the Planet Earth Games has been given a significant lift as in recent days, having been joined by a flurry of national, regional and local brands and ambassadors, sharing in the event’s ethos of nurturing active and sustainable lives.
Sport’s National Governing Bodies in two major water sports have signed up as official partners. British Canoeing and the RYA, under their innovative Green Blue initiative have joined. So too has national children’s charity, Youth Sport Trust, the organisers of the UK School Games and National School Sports Week.
Partners from the private sector include eco brand Presca Teamwear, sustainable skin product developer Skirr Skin and activity specialists Land and Wave and The Bear Trail. At community level, the nationwide initiative One Running Movement, Plymouth’s Clean Our Patch and Exeter’s Free Moovement are also teaming up with the Games.
Finally, the Games have been further boosted by the addition of Olympic sailing gold medallist Hannah Mills, England and Saracens Rugby Star Charlie Watson, trailblazing outdoor adventurers Will Copestake and Sophie Rooney and best selling sustainable lifestyle author and podcaster Jen Gale as ambassadors.
Chris Broadbent, CEO and founder of Planet Earth Games, said: “We have been blown away by the response to this year’s virtual and sustainable event. We have a coalition of partners and ambassadors that is rare in sport and leisure for whom the Games has struck a chord.
“In collaboration with our partners and ambassadors we have a brilliant programme of challenges running throughout August with individual, school and business incentives. Entries will be going live in the coming days and we are really excited at the potential of reaching thousands of people, families and communities, motivating and inspiring active and sustainable lives.”
